Countdown: 26 Days to go!

26 Days until my Rangapravesam!

The day started off pretty slow and mundane, but it ended up being one of the most productive dancing days for me!

I woke up later than usual and wasted much of the morning doing nothing. My sister is not one to take no for an answer, so when she came to me wanting to practice our duo piece, I had no option but to wake up and dance with her. I am impressed with how far she has come since we began learning this item and I am excited to perform it on the stage with her for everyone to see!

One of the last few items aunty and I are working on is the song my mom wrote called Matrulekha. This item is an original piece, with lyrics, music and choreography all made in house and brand new. Anu aunty and Harini have been working tirelessly to compose, choreograph, and to help bring mom's words and vision to life. Today's class is definitely one that I walked out of feeling the most satisfied. We not only managed to complete the two pending jatis, but we were also able to run through the whole item twice, and record the entire thing for my future reference.

It all got even sweeter when I got to end the night eating a LOT of pineapple. I just need 26 more solid days like today and then it will be showtime!
