Countdown: 23 Days to go!

23 Days to go until my Rangapravesam!

Thursday, June 20th, 2024, was the summer solstice, and I did feel the long day, thanks to the scorching Portland Sun. While it was fun to hangout with my friends at the movies, the heat was enough to put me in a bad mood the whole evening. Luckily, I had enough juice left in me to practice three of my songs, including the one with Taara. She actually added her own little twist to a part of the choreography that was very cute to see. I also got more clarity on my mom's song after the last few practices with the full audio recordings. I was too tired to practice more songs, or even write the day's blog, so I decided to combine it with today's.

Today was a productive dance day as I had regained some energy from last night's slump. I started off the morning practicing the first four items of the program, and was dripping sweat by the end of it. The excruciating heat and the intensity of my items were not a good combo, to say the least. After my practice, I sat in front of the fan on the highest setting for a good 20 minutes, and joined my family for lunch shortly after.

We all spent the rest of the afternoon putting turmeric on the edges of the paper invitations, which I was told is traditional to do. While at it, I 'blessed' my sister Taara with some turmeric too, and she gave me an eyeroll in response.

We both did some math for a little while before she was off to her sleepover at the neighbors. My mom had some errands to run and while at a store with her, I came face to face with the monstrosity of this cyber truck:

Anyhow, we are excited to host all the orchestra members tomorrow for a get together, as I will be meeting some of them for the first time. In the mean time, enjoy this lovely picture of puris that disappeared mere seconds later.
