Countdown: 19 Days to go!
19 Days till my Rangapravesam!
Yesterday was the first time in four days that I practiced dance! While the break felt nice, I was also a bit nervous that I would forget everything! Fortunately, none of that happened, and my morning practice at home as well as the evening practice with aunty at the studio were both quite productive. Aunty and I spent the class finalizing the Matrulekha item once and for all, and I felt that this time there was an actual bow put on it.
This marks the completion of all of the choreography for my Rangapravesam, and now it is time to fine tune and make sure every aspect of every item is perfect. I have adopted a schedule of practicing 3 dances in the morning and the remaining four at class, and vice versa, everyday. This way I am able to get in an equal amount of practice for each item, every day.
Bhavani was able to join us today at class, and sing the four songs I did today, live. We went over how many times to repeat certain phrases, and other such nuances. Leela also brought her veena to the class for some initial practice. It was great getting a feel for how it will be like on stage.
At this point in my Rangapravesam journey, I am happy with how far everything has come. My stamina has improved immensely, I don't forget what I am doing during items (most of the time), the brochures are being printed as I am writing this, the menu and caterers for snacks have been decided, and even Taara looks nearly stage-ready with our duo item!
See you tomorrow for day 18 countdown!
