Countdown: 7 Days to go!
One week left until my Rangapravesam!
In the past four days, I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to interact with Sri Pasumarthy Venkateswara Sarma Master garu and take his blessings. He conducted a workshop to train our Nartana team on Rama Patabhishekam dance drama that we will be performing at our annual day this year. The preparation for my Rangapravesam has been going in parallel.
This past weekend has been very productive in terms of Rangapravesam readiness. We finalized my memory book pictures, decided what pictures we wanted to blow up to fit into frames, made the video that we will play during intermission with all of my dance pictures throughout my journey, and even did a dress change rehearsal with a group of aunties. I have to do a couple of quick changes in between my items and it was important for us to practice this and time the changes. Everything went well at that rehearsal, and I’m definitely feeling confident about my readiness (quick-change wise), thanks to the wonderful help from the aunties! Food and decor has been confirmed, and our brochures along with banners should arrive any day now!
In terms of how I feel mentally, the one week countdown is hitting me hard! It feels as though just yesterday I started learning my items, and I can’t believe the big day is almost here! I know all of my items like the back of my hand (I think) but I’m still super nervous. I am optimistic though- that the final week's orchestra rehearsals will calm my nerves and help put a bow on my entire 7-item repertoire.
Stay tuned, as I continue to update this blog everyday until the big day!
