Countdown: 10 Days to go!
Only 10 days until my Rangapravesam!
It is the home stretch of my Rangapravesam journey, and it's all beginning to feel very real!
Everyone's been asking me how I am feeling, and I have not been able to put in words the combination of nervousness and excitement I am feeling!
Monday, July 1st, was supposed to be a normal/light practice with no orchestra. However, since it was the first time with the Mridangam accompaniment, I ended up practicing all the songs from the first half. The emcee team came in for their practice, too.
Tuesday, July 2nd, was the second session with full orchestra. I'd been dealing with some knee pain and so I kept my intensity to a minium during my practice that day.
Wednesday, July 3rd, was a no-practice day but I still ended up spending a couple of hours at the studio- auditioning for and then rehearsing my role as Lakshmana in a dance drama. At first, I struggled to grasp my part as it was pretty fast, and master garu's style of teaching is different from Anu aunty's. After the first session, I practiced the routine some more at home, and I felt more at ease.
Thursday, July 4th, was my second class with master garu to learn my next segment as Lakshmana. I presented to him what I learned yesterday as well, and was able to complete a good amount of the choreography for my role.
I also had class with Anu aunty in the evening- the first one at my home, to go over a few items, and get some pointers. Today felt like a very productive day in terms of dance, and I ended off the day watching fireworks with my friend!
